I stayed here for the time I was in Ubud. At first I was wary and wasn’t sure what I was getting myself into, but in the end, I loved it. It was definitely more closer to nature than a traditional hotel. I was on the 2nd floor of this two floor hotel. I think what surprised me when I walked into my room was that the roof wasn’t flushed to the edges of the walls. There was a small intentional gap between the top of the walls and the rooftop. And all I can think of was “What about the mosquitos and bugs?”. Oddly, that wasn’t a problem at all during my stay even with the mosquito netting around my bed. I think the most amazing thing though that sold me was the balcony in the back overlooking a small forest area. It would definitely make my Bali/Ubud journey much more meaningful. It was a great place to reflect and to relax. It would definitely make an impact on me. At one point during my stay I would see a “double rainbow” and a “super moon” while overlooking this forest area. Amazing.
The staff at the Bungalows were also great. There were no elevators present but the staff just lugged my luggage up the narrow stairs without hesitation. The breakfast I had every morning which was phenomenal were these banana pancakes. They had other options of course, but I loved these bad boys. A staff worker would stop by at night and ask what I wanted, and I always got those. They offered dinner as well. I only ordered dinner once while I was there. But for the most part I tried to eat somewhere closer to downtown Ubud which was only about a 10-15 minute walk away.
