Baphuon

Trail

I forget his name but as I was walking along and exiting Baphuon, he approached me and I instinctually remembered an experience in Bali at the Mother Temple where I was going to be taken on an unwanted tour by a local. But it was “same same but different”. I didn’t feel as threatened, but had my guard up at first. All he really wanted to do was to show me around (and get money afterwards for school…which I kind of figured) I was glad though that he walked with me since he showed me a crumbling temple and a woman being water blessed. He showed me an area I believed wasn’t necessarily shown to tourists and I loved going on these “off the beaten path” type of adventures. He asked for money at the end, but I didn’t feel pressured or threatened. I gave to him willingly just to help him in his future studies.
